Renew an existing vehicle licence

Use this form to apply to renew an existing vehicle licence.

There is a charge of £135 to renew a vehicle licence. Payment is taken as part of this form.

Payment does not automatically mean that a licence has been renewed. Final approval is granted by the licensing office, who will review your application and respond to you to confirm your renewal or to ask for additional evidence.

What you'll need

Before you start, check that you have :

• a valid certificate of insurance for the intended use of the vehicle
• pages 1 and 2 of the vehicle log book (V5C)

You may also need to provide

• if applicable, for fleet insurance policies, a copy of the schedule showing this vehicle

You can upload scanned copies or photos of your documents. You can submit up to 10 files. Each file must be less than 10MB.

• images (.jpg, .jpeg, .gif or .png)

Saving your progress

You can save your answers at any time by clicking 'Save and resume later' and then return to the form later.

If you do not save it, you will lose your answers if you exit the form or leave it inactive for 20 mins.
